Innovating and Digitalising English Classes keeping learners at the core (Ideas, ICT tools and practices to enhance creativity and cooperation)- Primary School Edition
Innovating and Digitalising English Classes keeping learners at the core (Ideas, ICT tools and practices to enhance creativity and cooperation)- Upper and Lower Secondary School Edition
This hands-on course is meant to give English teachers the opportunity to plan, create and delivery lessons where ICT tools help them achieve the learning intentions they have set (i.e., launching and monitoring projects, carry out assessment for learning..) while enhancing cooperation and creativity amongst learners.
Self-assessment of their own IT competence will underpin the grouping of participants (“explorers/ integrators” or “pioneers”) both during “live” sessions and in the breakouts rooms, in order to enable them to work together within the most appropriate learning area.
The workshop-style approach of the course will also promote collaborations amongst the participants, not only in terms of selecting the most appropriate tools but also by means of creating templates, materials and setting projects suitable for their own context . As a result they will gain expertise with ICT-enhanced activities, innovating pedagogies and collaborative tasks.
The selected tools used by the teachers during the course will all be GDPR compliant, so to be used by both teachers and learner, free of charge and both inclusive and easy to use.
By the end of this course, the participants will have enhanced their planning skills in selecting the most suitable ICT tool(s) to create or adapt activities and resources, actively engaging students in their learning process.
Moreover, they will have increased their own bank of templates and resources.
The course will help the participants to:
• Identify the main steps to set a project, monitor it and carry out in-between assessment for learning;
• Explore digital tools to brainstorm and collect ideas, create materials (slides, screencasts, infographics…), launch/monitor projects;
• Digitally enhancing cooperation and creativity amongst learners ( digital storytelling-related ideas);
• Design a project/a set of lessons by working in groups and using selected ICT tools.
